6/35kV Medium Voltage Power Distribution Series
This series is engineered for primary electrical grids, heavy industrial plants, and large-scale renewable energy (wind/solar) integration at 6/35kV.
Conductor, Insulation, and Screening Combinations
♦ Conductors: High-purity electrolytic copper (CU) or electrical-grade aluminum (AL).
♦ Insulation & Sheath: Formulated with 90°C high-thermal XLPE insulation as the standard dielectric layer. The external protective jacket can be selected independently between premium PVC and PE to fulfill specific waterproofing and burial depth requirements.
♦ Screening Options: Precision-formed with Copper Tape Screen (CTS), Copper Wire Screen (CWS), or dual combinations (CTS&CWS) to ensure optimal electromagnetic shielding and grounding integrity.
♦ Specific Selection: Selection depends on project ampacity, grid load, and environment. For example: continuous high-thermal operations, stable electro-static field distribution, or sub-grade moisture barriers — all achievable through material combinations.
Mechanical Protection and Optional Upgrades
Standard configurations include non-armoured and heavy armoured designs. Optional add-ons:
♦ LSZH compounds for transit tunnels or mass-populated public grids
♦ Mica-tape fire-resistant (FR) barriers for critical backup emergency circuits
♦ Longitudinal water-blocking swelling tapes to prevent water-treeing inside insulation
♦ Anti-termite / anti-rodent chemical sheaths for harsh subterranean protection
Compliance
All cables comply with IEC 60502-2. Third-party test reports available upon request.
AWA Armoured Cable
This Medium Voltage Cable and AWA Armoured Cable category is specialized exclusively for high-capacity, single-core alternating current (AC) main transformer links and primary substation connections. By implementing high-conductivity, non-magnetic aluminium wire armour (AWA), this high-ampacity series isolates alternating electromagnetic fields to deliver maximum electrical system efficiency without inductive eddy current heating.
·Standards: IEC 60502-2
·Cores: 1 Core Only (Note: This section holds 1-Core cables exclusively; for multi-phase 3-Core projects, please view our STA / SWA armoured catalogs)
·Conductors & Screening: Premium Copper (CU) or Aluminum (AL) cores supported by precision CTS or CWS moisture-sealed shielding.
·Material Matrix: Formulated with premium 90°C XLPE insulation over single-core conductors. The outer protective jacket can be freely customized with PE or PVC compounds to fight aggressive environmental aging or high-salinity exposure.
·Optional Upgrade: To combat severe environmental aging in coastal or high-humidity zones, the aluminum armor grid can be reinforced with optional moisture-blocked swelling tapes or specialized UV-stabilized jackets to prevent galvanic corrosion.
Key Advantages
·Eliminate Inductive Loop Overheating: Traditional steel wires act as a magnetic choke on single cores. Our non-magnetic AWA structure completely avoids eddy current bottlenecks, ensuring zero loop power waste, cool-running performance, and maximum continuous grid capacity.
·Rigging Weight Reduction: The lightweight profile of aluminum wires heavily cuts down total cable self-weight compared to steel wire alternatives, drastically lowering installation rigging tension, handling strain, and crane logistics expenses for heavy cross-section lines.
·Corrosion-Protected Armor Shell: While maintaining excellent thermal dissipation, the aluminum cage creates a tough mechanical barrier against soil compaction and underground pests, with optional upgrades available for marine or coastal mist resistance.
Application Guideline
·Choose AWA: Mandated for generator-to-transformer links, high-power heavy industrial smelters, utility substation bays, and coastal or offshore energy grids.
·Alternatives: Ferrous STA and SWA are strictly unsuited for high-current single-core AC routes. For multi-phase configurations requiring underground armoring, refer to our 3-Core STA or SWA portfolios.
