Standard Overview

BS 6004 specifies requirements for electric cables with thermoplastic insulation and flexible cables for fixed wiring and general electrical applications. The standard covers cables with copper conductors, PVC insulation, and PVC sheathing used in low voltage electrical installations.

It is widely applied to building wires, fixed wiring cables, and flexible electrical cables for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
