BS 5467 Electric Cables Standard

Standard Overview

BS 5467 specifies requirements for thermosetting insulated electric cables with armouring for fixed installations. It covers low voltage power cables with XLPE insulation, copper or aluminum conductors, and protective metallic armouring for applications requiring mechanical protection.

These cables are commonly used for power distribution, industrial installations, and underground electrical networks, especially in markets following British Standards.
